Please add your name and institution to indicate that you will provide an institutional update for the Newsletter in the month indicated. No fear! This is not an onerous task.
What information should go into an Institutional Report? Well, the door is pretty much open for you, as is the format (text, images, video...), but here are some suggestions of things to include:
-
Introduction: introduce yourself, your role
-
Your institution: where you are, your enrollments (more or less), your extent/# of campuses or satellites or centres
-
Your educational technology: what role does e-learning play? distance learning? technology in the classroom? What's your LMS? Your webconferencing app? What's the backbone of your educational technology? Who/which department does this work?
-
What's new or noteworthy in your educational technology or educational innovation? What makes you proud? Worried? Please don't limit this to a brag session; we're interested in the warts too
-
Partnering possibilities: what are you doing that you'd like to invite partners into? What partnerships are you most involved in, with whom?
If you're interested in creating a video report, here are a few tips to keep in mind.
If, however, the institutional report is coming from a really big institution with too many projects to report on in a one-page or so report, consider giving some very brief background/context for your institution & then selecting 2 or 3 projects to mention in a bit more detail. Remember that institutional reports are not so much a brag-fest but an honest & helpful report of where you are, where you're hoping to go in educational technology.
So, if you are able to provide a report for your institution for one of the months below, add your name - and thanks in advance!
